About Me
Since 1998 I have been defending people accused of DUI. Why, you may ask? Because the person accused of DUI is the forgotten victim of the justice system. A DUI is an exception to the constitution. You have no right to an attorney for field sobriety tests, no right to an attorney to consult whether you should take a breath test, and you are not told your rights until the end of the case. I have defended people from all walks of life including clergy, engineers, lawyers, doctors, teenagers, and the average hard working person. I go all over Utah to defend people that need a defense. I have been from North Logan down to Monticello, Utah. Here are just a few of my qualifications:
Certifications:
- certificate of completion National College of DUI Defense Summer Session, Cambridge, MA, conducted at the Harvard Law School.
- certificate of training in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests from a certified NHTSA instructor, which is the same training Police officers receive.
- certified trial lawyer from the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College 2004 and graduate seminars 2005 and 2006.
- certificate of completion from the Mastering Scientific Evidence in DUI/DWI Cases
- certificate of completion from the Indiana University, Robert F. Borkenstein, December 2003 Intoxilyzer Program (this is what Utah Breath Test Technicians are required to complete)
- certified to run and operate an intoxilyzer 5000en (and owns own machine)
- member in good standing with the Utah State Bar since 1998
- member and Utah State delegate for the National College of DUI Defense
- National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers
- Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers
- admitted to practice before both Utah State and the Federal Courts.
